I remember years back when I watched Charlie Brown regularly, Lucy was the least of my favorites because she had a stinky attitude. It was tolerable, but I really started hating her when she ALWAYS moved the football out of the way at the moment Charlie would kick it; okay, sorta cute and funny as a joke for a while, but then there was this big game where Charlie and team counted on each other to be the best they could be.... no screwing around, right? I thought for sure Lucy would let Charlie kick it that time because it was really important to him. But she still moved the football and they lost the game. So I wanted to draw this after a little trip through memory lane, remembering I’ve wanted to do this cartoon since the age of ten. So Charlie finally kicked that ball “to the moon” and took Lucy with it. Good riddance lol. It's surprising how tedious it could be to be as accurate as possible with Shultz's simple style X_x.

So here's my tribute to the football craze. XD Go Seahawks!

Guess what? REVENGE!!!!!! Man, I love saying that!! That also reminds me my own trip to memory lane on this all time favortie series, the only time Charlie was able to kick the football without Lucy ever noticing was in one of my fave specials, It's Magic, Charlie Brown. After Snoopy's grand finale of making Charlie disappear, it backfired and turned him invisible instead. With that, Charlie was able to kick the football and make fun of Lucy until his last attempt to humiliate Lucy again drawn to a close when Snoopy turned him visible again, with a slow motion sequence and dramatic bgm Lucy moving the football away. At was all fun for Charlie kicking the ball with snoopy's help, but after Lucy remarked of Snoopy beign a lousy magician, Snoopy growled and magically levitated her and all alone, with a boy and his magical dog joyfully skipped away and laughing. AWESOME pic!! XD

I watched that show on nick when I was really little! And I DO REMEMBER THAT TOO! I thought the same thing with Lucy doing that to Charlie Brown, but she had it coming to her when Snoopy kisses her XD.
You Got it PERFECT TOO! Lucy flying to the moon with a bloody nose and Charlie Brown looking agitated and proud at the same time XD Great job! I sure do miss that show. :(

i've always felt sorry for Charlie Brown myself. i remember this one special called, "It's Magic, Charlie Brown!" in which Snoopy becomes a magician, and he makes Chuck invisible. that's when he finally kicks Lucy's football and laughs, "Ha, ha, ha, ha-ha, ha" the same way you'd say "Na, na, na, na-na, na". i enjoyed every moment of that scene! *sigh* too bad it didn't last for long :(
