Is it for the love of God or the fear of judgment from other people that motivates you to go to Church? Or get involved in any other kind of religion.
To be a person of a particular religion, true faith is when your sincerely believe with all your heart in something or someone, not because someone puts a gun to your head or because some religious nutbag makes you feel like you should. Have faith if you feel that calling and direction within, not because you feel pressured to- for that is what the point of faith is. Religious people should stop badgering Atheists- if you really understood the message of scripture (or even bothered to read it!) You would learn that what we do or don't do has very little effect (or no effect) on whether or not a person will become a (For example) Christian. We can offer advise or stand firm in what we believe in, and then let those that hear our claim come to their own conclusion. The absolute worse thing you could do is force feed people the Bible, especially in anger and judgment. In fact, that is one of the things that make people do the opposite of what these Bible belts think they're going to accomplish. They turn people away from religion, and even oppose it with a terrible passion. Why do you think we're being judged? Because people do the exact thing that Christ did NOT want us to do, but they say it's "in the name of God" to justify everything... but when you do cruel things in the name of God, you are in up to your head in guano. Cause the big guy upstairs ain't too happy about that
I believe in honest faith- to love and honor God because I want to, not because I'm told to.
I think that the Bible Belt is used as a flail against Christianity in general. There may be misguided Christians, but that's true of all walks of thought. Honest faith should indeed be encouraged, but not to the extent of promoting and simultaneously demonizing others. I agree with your sentiment, but instead of hating or being resentful of fundamentalists (as damaging as they may be) Christians should see them as another mission, a people to bring the good news to and bring hope to their fearful world view. So please judge me fairly as I bring forth my dreams to reality...
Very true to many Christians have said or told people they should believe what they believe or else they would go to hell which is totaly doing the opposite effect one should believe because he/she believes not due to fear and ignorance
It would be nice if a lot more people practiced exactly what you described here. I've been turned off by a lot of what I see when it comes to religion because I've seen so few honest people but I keep hoping more and more people will eventually wake up and live and let live, regardless of faith. People are different and everyone has to find his or her own path.
So, short version: Nice stamp.

DeviantART has partnered with FAIR to help promote equality through The Love Unites Shepard Fairey Equality Project. We're asking deviants to align themselves with this cause and have their work judged by Shepard Fairey himself!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
For those who have many watchers, and for those who dont have many, it is hard to know how one retains that interest as well as receive more. This article explores the basics of watchers and how we react to certain situations. Although it does not affect some deviants, and the tips are generally related to common sense, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority learn something from reading this.

Besides, true Christianity is not religion, it is a "faith"
and faith is "the substance of things unseen"
and faith is THE way to Him that was established.
Isn't it sad how 90% of the world's population are essentially Subjective Ideallists?
problem is, are we losing the war? I try to ask fellow Christians this from time to time.

Please Jesus, protect me from your followers.
Stop breeding before we go the way of China and the one-child law. Don't have those four children just to prove you can.
