These things are going to become an addiction XD

So yeah, I don't see what the big deal is about fans pairing an official character (Like Knuckles, Sephiroth, Trunks, etc...) with a character they created. I got a few myself. Why do people complain about that? =/

The simple asnwer is some people think their opinion is the only opinion =P Or the only one that they think is "right".

Guess it comes down to that notion that fans own a character. Oh well.

Nice stamp =D Place one on my forehead and post me to San Fransisco mamme.

They complain because you beat them to the punch. ;)

Well its that and more often then not the new persona that is created to be paired with the offical one is something ungodly perfect a Mary-Sue thing that should not be. I don't mind so long as the new persona fits in well and is not some long lost love godess that is uber powerful and imortal...or something like that.

A passionate heart is quick to anger, a strong heart is one to react and take arms. A true noble heart is one that breaks past all bindings to love embrace and teach.

I got a couple official/fan character things cooking, too.

There are some things I don't like about it though. The whole Mary-Sue thing for example. Or when a fan character hooks up with someone who already has a stable relationship with another official character.

I don't care about it myself but as mentioned by previous posters, the Mary-Sue thing creates quite a bit of dislike for such pairings. That and some see them as cliche.

As with anything, they can be done well. It just gets old when you see the same concept over and over again which is canon character with the "perfect" fan character.
:iconkatyasolas:
I think fan pairings are okay as long as they're handled properly. I mean, I would pair them off with a character who's single; or if they have a relationship already, I would be with a character who's relationship with the partner is undetermined. I no longer like pairing fan characters off with characters who already have partners.

intersting can you tell me a bit more about this?
:iconkatwarrior:
Here, here.

Poorly written or otherwise, they aren't hurting anything. Have people forgotten the "don't like - don't look" policy?

I would only fuss if one went out of their way to annoy me with it. Otherwise, I don't care. Heck, I like some of them. XD

Proud to not be a yaoi fan! :D

I dont mind it in art at all, its just sometimes (not all the time) hard to read in fanfics, unless the relationship actually develops in the fic itself X3

About what, my fan chars?
